Online Industrial Training – Garden City Ammonia Program

IIAR (International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration)is an advocate for the safe, reliable and efficient use of ammonia and other natural refrigerants.  IIAR members share their collective knowledge and experience to produce consensus documents that address various aspects of the natural and industrial refrigeration industry. IIAR has broad industry representation including manufacturers, design engineers, contractors, end users, academics, scientists, and trainers.

This month GCAP attended the annual IIAR show and was also an exhibitor at the event.   Anthony Verdugo enjoyed the event and also spent time supporting the education and international committees. Kristen De La Pena has supported the marketing committee of IIAR since 2008.   The event was again so much fun and great chance to say hello to our good friend as well as make some new.

GCAP was honored to sponsor and speak at the 14th annual ammonia safety day hosted by LA Roser in Salt Lake City, Utah this last month.  With over 150 participants and more than a dozen vendors we would say it was a success.  Jeremy Williams of GCAP presented 4 different presentations to help support the event.   Topics included;

• R-717 – Emergency Planning and Response
• Standard Operating Procedure and Training
• Managing the Change

So much work was needed in preparation and behind the scenes that this event would not been possible without the drive and dedication from Autum Peterson.  Next year it will have a focus of participants from a six state area that makes what we call region 8.  GCAP looks for to supporting the event for 2019

GCAP wrapped up one of our last NH3 Operator courses of 2o18.  This last year was again another year of blessing and growth.  Here is a little action of some of the students putting the labs to work.

The Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA), founded in 1910, is an international society of individuals and companies involved in the design, operation and service of industrial refrigeration systems. Its purpose is to provide education and training, as well as networking benefits, to both experienced operators and those who have recently entered this rapidly expanding field. GCAP attended the 2018 conference in Dallas Texas.
